We've been taking our cars to Wards since we moved to Southern California in 1991. We are VERY happy with how we are treated. When the old Audi kept breaking down, they recommend which repairs were needed right away and which were unnecessary. When I bought my new car, they helped me narrow down the search to something solid and reliable. I know I will never pay for something I don't need.

I bought a Honda in September 2009.  When it was time for its first service, I checked online and saw some really good comments about Ward Service Auto Repair in Monrovia.  I have never been disappointed and continue to take my Honda there.  Once the low tire pressure signal came on and would not go off.  A quick call the next morning, a drive to their shop is all it took.  I guess sometimes those warning lights on the dash don't reset without a little help.  I am always grateful for the ride home too. Based on a perpetual 5 star rating by AAA, I began taking my BMW to Ward Service over 10 years ago.  AAA was absolutely correct in their praise of Ward Service Auto Repair.  The BMW is long gone, but Ward handles my MINI Cooper with the same great care and concern.  Their e-mail service reminders are a huge plus.  The shop service is exceptional on all levels. What really keeps me coming back is the fact that they have never oversold me and have always been realistic about the timing of any repairs; recommending which repairs need to be fixed immediately and which repairs can wait. I have been going to Ward Service since 2006 when we moved to Monrovia from West L.A.  I had a great mechanic in West L.A. and was very nervous about finding another honest one.  At the time, my wife's vehicle was very old and we wanted to keep it running without sinking a lot of money into it. We asked a friend who has lived in Monrovia his entire life where he takes his cars for service repair.  He highly recommended Ward Service Auto Repair and that he has been a happy customer with them forever.  We went to Ward and Jim was completely straight with us, he didn't try to convince us we needed to spend hundreds of dollars on our vehicle. About $100 later our car kept going for more than a year later.

That was just our first experience with Ward; we have gone back every time.  Now my car is the old one and true to their form, they always treat me straight.  How do I know even though I don't understand a lot about cars? When I talk an old friend who does his own work about the symptoms and he will tell me the possible problems: usually a cheap fix and an expensive one.  I then go to Ward and they, sometimes even mentioning my fear of the expensive fix, and they call back saying it only needs the cheap fix.

I could not be more confident in Ward's integrity or more satisfied with their service.  I always refer my friends to Ward Service Auto Repair.  -B.J. D.

Ward Service Auto Repair is a family owned business since 1923.  Jim Ward and his team strive to please and are very attentive to details.  I've taken our cars there for years, partially due to their friendliness, but mainly because I like the high value of honesty and don't make up reasons to repair my car.  It is affordable compared to many dealerships. I've always felt the cost has been reasonable and justified for genuine repair needs done correctly and carefully. I previously had taken our families' two cars to a shop in Glendora where we live, but they did not offer shuttle service and were a bit pricey. I have since started taking our cars to Ward Service Auto Repair in Monrovia where I work. The service is outstanding! I like to get to work early, and Jim has met me at the shop (on more than one occasion) before they open to get started on my car. The real treat, though, is getting a ride from Larry! I took my car to Ward's for a major repair and was very pleased with the job done.
From the day I drove the car off the lot, it never ran quite right.  Despite numerous trips to the dealership, it was never truly corrected and I learned to live with it.  When registration time approached, I took the car to a repair shop in Pasadena who told me the engine was junk without even looking at it.  A friend recommended Ward's, and I took it there, figuring what is there to lose.  It turned out that the fuel pressure regulator was the root cause of the problem, and nobody prior to Ward's had the tenacity to dig and find the real problem.  Ironically, the car runs much better today than it ever did when it was new. The mechanics at Ward Service Auto Repair are very good at what they do with years of qualified experience. -Mark D.

Like many folks, we have taken our vehicles to various establishments for repair in the past. We've had some OK experiences, some not so OK experiences, and some that were downright horrible. Then one day while complaining to a little old lady friend in Glendale, she recommended I try Ward Service Auto Repair in Monrovia.  I took her advise and still, to this day (she is now in her 90's), I often thank her for her advise from many years ago.

The shop is spotlessly clean, and very efficiently run.  The personnel are very friendly, and very knowledgeable.  They have never let me down.  The crew always keeps me informed on both my vehicles when service is due.  I have been going there for years, and have never had anything but a pleasurable experience.  They always find the problem, repair it promptly, and bill me a fair price.  Isn't that what we want?
